How Offerio works
Three steps to quotes from partner companies. Free and without obligation.
Offerio is a Swiss quote marketplace for moving, cleaning, clearance, furniture lifts, storage and piano transport. You describe your job once, and partner companies in your region send you their quotes. It costs you nothing and commits you to nothing. Offerio is paid by the companies, not by you.
The three steps in detail
Submit your request
The request form takes about two minutes. For a move we ask for the date, your current and new address, the size of the flat, and the floor and lift situation. Those are the details that decide how much work the job really is. List special items such as a piano, a safe or an aquarium separately: they change the quote noticeably, and a company that only finds out on moving day will recalculate. The more precise your answers, the more binding the quotes. You do not need an account.
Receive your quotes
Your request goes to a maximum of five partner companies that cover your region and your service. You hear back within 24 hours. That is a commitment, not an estimate. The companies contact you by email or phone and send you an individual quote. Some will ask for details first or suggest a short viewing, especially for larger moves. That gives you up to five quotes to lay side by side.
Choose a company
Compare prices and services, and check that the quotes actually cover the same ground. A cheap quote without packing material and disposal often ends up costing more than one that includes everything. Take your time: you are under no obligation and can turn down any quote without explaining yourself. Once you decide, you settle the rest directly with the company. Offerio does not get involved in the contract between you and the company.
What happens to your request
Most quote portals stay quiet about this. We do not, because it is a fair question to ask. Your request is not published openly and does not end up in a database that anyone can search. It is matched by service and region to a limited number of partner companies: five at most.
Those companies pay Offerio for the right to work on your request: per request, not per completed job. That is our business model. It is also why nobody has any interest in spreading your request as widely as possible: a company with little chance of winning the job will not buy a second one.
A company sees your name, your phone number and your addresses only once it takes on your request. Before that it sees only what the job is: service, region, scope and date. What we store and for how long is set out in our privacy policy.
Read the privacy policy →How we vet partner companies
Vetted does not mean somebody filled in a form. Before a company receives any requests, we check:
- Commercial register entry and a valid UID number
- Business liability insurance with adequate cover
- At least three verifiable references, which we contact ourselves
- A response to requests within 24 hours: companies that stay silent are deactivated
- We follow up on every complaint about a partner company
How to compare quotes properly
The most common mistake when comparing quotes is looking only at the bottom line. Swiss moving and cleaning companies bill according to three different models, and the same figure means something different depending on which one is used.
- Flat rate (Pauschalpreis)
- A fixed amount for the whole job. Easy to plan with, but only as reliable as the information it is based on. For larger moves, a reputable company will usually quote a flat rate only after a viewing.
- Hourly rate (Stundenansatz)
- Billed according to the work actually done, normally per person per hour plus the vehicle. Fair for small jobs, but hard to budget for without an upper limit.
- Cost ceiling (Kostendach)
- An hourly rate with a guaranteed upper limit: you pay for the work actually done, but never more than the agreed maximum. In practice often the best compromise.
What a serious quote must state
- The pricing model: flat rate, hourly rate or cost ceiling, clearly named
- VAT at 8.1%: included, or added on top?
- The journey there and back, included or billed separately
- Floor, lift and carrying distance, the biggest hidden cost driver
- Packing material, furniture assembly and disposal
- Insurance cover for transport damage
Warning signs
- Full payment demanded up front, before the job
- No commercial register entry, no UID number
- A fixed price for a large move without any viewing at all
- A quote with no written breakdown of the individual items

See prices and benchmarks →Frequently asked questions
- How does Offerio earn money if the request is free for me?
- The partner companies pay Offerio for the right to work on your request: per request, not per completed job. As the customer you pay nothing: not for the request, not for the quotes, not for the comparison. There is no commission added to your bill.
- Who gets my address and my phone number?
- Only the partner companies that actually take on your request see your contact details, five at most. Your request is not published openly and is not passed to third parties outside that circle. What we store and for how long is set out in our privacy policy.
- Will I be buried in cold calls after submitting a request?
- No. Your request goes to a maximum of five companies, and they get in touch with a concrete quote, not with advertising. Companies that did not take on your request never receive your number. Offerio does not sell your data to list brokers.
- What if none of the quotes work for me?
- Then you turn them down, with no explanation and no cost. You are under no obligation. You can submit a new request at any time, for instance with a different date or an adjusted scope, and receive quotes from other companies.
- How do I know a partner company has really been vetted?
- Every company that quotes through Offerio has proved its commercial register entry, a valid UID number and business liability insurance. You can check the register entry yourself at any time. The UID number belongs in any serious quote anyway.
- Can I get a binding quote without a viewing?
- For smaller jobs, yes: if your details are complete, a company can quote bindingly without coming round. For large moves a short viewing, on site or by video, is in both parties' interest. A fixed price for a five-room move with no viewing at all is more of a warning sign than a good offer.
- How quickly do I have to decide?
- Offerio sets no deadline. How long a quote stays valid is up to the company; two to four weeks is usual. Capacity is tight for moving dates at the end of the month and over the summer. Deciding early gives you more to choose from.
